Chapter 20. Losing Hope

John called Mary to find out more about what’s going on Suicide Channel. It’s time to eliminate Rick and Megan to stop this madness if the rescue of mediums would not be enough. She shared with him that Rick was holding a final meeting with the Council. The peculiarity of this meeting was in the personal presence of the participants because of the unwillingness to miss the final stage.
Gabriel was considering a further plan of action, as it became apparent that John’s visit didn’t give them anything but only angered Archangels. Her gaze was full of determination. The phone was beeping with a message that an operation of freeing mediums had already been developed.
“Yes… Start the assault immediately. Hurry up until time has lost its meaning,” she sent a voice message.
“Slow down!”
“What’s up? What’s wrong?”
“I have to go. Rick is meeting with the Council. I’ve decided to end him once and for all. We couldn’t wait any longer. I had to act then, but I wasn’t sure that they were both in charge. If you manage to save the mediums, then we’ll destroy their plan!”
“Take care of yourself,” she hugged him, bit him by the ear, and then kissed him on the cheek. “We’ll help you to get inside,” in response, he ran a hand into her hair and clenched a fist. Gabriel let out a groan, having thrown her head back.
She took out a backpack with all the necessities from the trunk and handed it to John. She wanted to stop, but having known John’s stubbornness, she didn’t dare to mess up with him.

“Two dozen cars have left the garage of BWC pharm,” a message came to Balthazar’s phone.
“Very well!” Then he gave a command to begin the operation.
Balthazar decided not to change anything in the developed plan, despite the call of Mammon. The plan came down to the fact that the first group goes to Rick’s office and finishes with him, while the second will have to perform a much more important task: to solve the problem with mediums. His calculation was based on thoughts that Mammon would forgive him everything for not letting Angels go to Earth, even self-will with mediums.

Having watched the passing gatherings of Short Way, especially after Suicide Channel fans and many half-breed cops joined them, Midnite became uneasy. This shindig looked like anything but not an event under the slogans: “Peace. Friendship. Bubblegum.” The first thing that occurred to him was that Angela, as a cop and as a medium, should’ve been, if not to be inside, then at least to be nearby. He decided to contact her immediately.
“Angela!”
“Hi. We’re in trouble. Mediums gained access to Heaven. I’ve been there too.”
“The crowd needs to be stopped somehow. The first blood will soon be shed.”
“It’s a distraction. Only mediums are important.”
“They were going for them. Our duties are the crowd and Megan.”
“Any ideas?”
“Hustle up! Take Andrew and go to the abbot. We ask him to address them. This will have to reduce the passions.”
“Do you think it’ll work?”
“I dunno for sure. At least it distracts Megan’s attention away from the mediums.”

Meanwhile, Balthazar and Gabriel’s forces came into fire contact with the defenders of the facility. Despite the hacking of a defense control system, the guards did everything possible to inflict maximum damage on the attacking forces. For the attackers, this became apparent after several vehicles were blown up on anti-tank mines.
The object itself was a few buildings on the surface and an extensive network of laboratories at the lower levels. As they approached, the density of fire increased. The leader of Balthazar’s group was very alarmed by the fact that only Gabriel’s group came under heavy fire. Despite the misgivings, the order must be executed.
Gabriel’s group, having lost about a third of the comp of the killed and wounded, was able to gain access to the object and enter inside. Closing gates of the lab hid the remnants of the glowing cars from their eyes. The lead established a secure communication channel by contacting Gabriel.
“We lost all the cavalry. It’s clear. It’ll be done.”
After which, he immediately informed the order to his unit.
Having walked through a series of tunnels that were a logistic branch of the lab, Balthazar’s group penetrated inside and headed towards the life support systems of the facility.

Angela picked up Andrew and headed for the monastery. Getting arrived at the place and running through the park, they met Midnite at the entrance. Having seen in what rush the guests arrived and how much anxiety on their faces, a novice immediately led them inside and reported to the abbot about their coming. He went out to them without delay.
“Andrew, my friend! Why do you have such a worried look?”
“We’ve got big problems, padre!”
After they went into the office and closed the door, he continued.
“Rather, there are two of them. John’s informant said that Megan… Yes, that one. She plans to use the crowd of followers to create chaos and unrest. We’d like to ask you to contact them in order to reassure the throng.”
“With this, I can help you. Kind words and prayer always bring peace,” he leaned back in the chair. “So, what’s the second one?”
“As you know, your grace, two years ago, Mammon tried to crawl into our world through her,” he pointed to Angela. “She’s an incredibly strong medium. This time everything’s different,” Midnite fell silent, having chosen words, “Angels decided to establish their dictatorship on Earth.”
“As the Lord disposes of. He’ll not give offense to his children.”
“Not this time. He is sick and tired of us. He gave us at the mercy of his Angel forces, having made them free to do whatever they want.”
Angela added.
“They gave mediums access to Heaven.”
She took off the amulet and began to glow like a star. By having put it back on, she regained her human form.
“The arrival of one Angel on Earth equals to a nuclear explosion. As the Scriptures say, “Armageddon,” but there are dozens, if not hundreds. Not many will survive …”
“It cannot be… How so… How to do …”
“Gabriel and John are trying to save the fragile world. Our task is not to let Megan unleash the carnage. We have to hurry up!”
“I’ll do everything possible!”
At this time, shots, screams, and sounds of falling bodies began to be heard in the courtyard. To this moment, most of the novices had been recruited and worked for Megan. Upon learning of the arrival of such an unusual delegation, she gave the command to kill them all.
“What is this?!” Steve was indignant.
“We’ve been late,” Angela answered.
“You’re welcome in reality, padre,” Midnite summed up.
What was happening surprised but mostly hurt Steve to the core. He realized that his brothers had betrayed him, that they didn’t really believe, but led him by the nose. “Megan must be punished. I never let this arrogant half-breed be in charge.”
“Follow me!” He clicked on a piece of tile located behind one of the cabinets.
Having barricaded the entrance with everything that came to hand, Angela, having taken out a gun, led the procession.
“Where’s the abbot! Find him! Kill him!” Screams from the courtyard came closer. A moment later, the attackers were already banging on the door, having tried to get inside.

John has received a notification from Mary that Gabriel and Balthazar had skirmished for mediums. Reaching the central hall for John was not difficult. It was quite crowded: reporters, film crews, and many visitors. Everything worked for the fullest coverage of the events. As soon as he tried to reach the second floor, he was met with fierce resistance from half-breeds. Having shot three of them in a small corridor, he entered another hall. It was the only way to another block of the building where the meeting was held. His appearance didn’t go unnoticed by them. Without thinking twice, he took out several flasks with holy fire and threw them into the air. From his spell, they exploded and began to burn all those present.
The room was filled with heartbreaking screams and sounds of struggle. John began frantically firing back, having pushed the attackers away. Two pounced on him from behind. Having made a throw to one, the attacker got on his knee and was immediately hit by a silver knife on his chest. At this moment, another attacker kicked John, having caused him to lose balance and fall. Having gathered last efforts, he managed to carry out a successful attack and insert a knife into the head of the second attacker. Having looked around the smoldering bodies, he became convinced that the threat had been eliminated, got to his feet, and caught his breath.
Having gathered with strength, he ran through the hall, heading for the stairs. Only a few floors separated him from Rick. Then, having reloaded the weapon and shifted several clips from the backpack into pockets, he dropped it, moving empty-handed.
John ran to the right floor and quickly, without attracting much attention, went to the meeting room. Behind the glass, Rick was telling the audience something, having stood with his back to John. He didn’t take risks in case the windows prove to be armored. Having held his gun ready, John entered.

Both assault groups came into the object and began to move farther. Mediums were located at the minus second level. Their losses increased with each passing block. Balthazar’s group began to mine generators, a reagent depot, and load-bearing structures. Having watched the offensive, Megan was convinced that the time had come, and it was impossible to hesitate further. She got in touch with a soldier from Balthazar’s group who was personally recruited by her. On her orders, he’ll have to signal his accomplices to action. Having received it, they immediately began to shoot fighters loyal to Balthazar.
“What’s the fuck!” The unit commander took a keychain from a pocket and tried to press a detonation button.
“Not your day!”
A silver bullet pierced his head through and through. Gabriel’s group, having suffered significant losses, was able to break through to the mediums. Soberly having assessed the state of affairs, she resorted to Plan B, which she had on the plate in case there was no way to take them out. Without regret and emotional torment, Gabriel gave an order to destroy all of them. “One hundred people for this world? No problem!” The fighters began the elimination of mediums while they were continuing to fight back from all the incoming defenders’ reinforcements. Each of the rooms contained several mediums: some of them were conscious, while the rest were in trance, being connected to a life support system. It was clear for the soldiers that this was their last assignment. Gabriel strictly followed one rule, which earned respect among her fighters: she’s never used her people blindly, so each of them chose death on a mission in the hope that their efforts wouldn’t be in vain. For them, it was better than to contemplate the inevitable end of this world.
The wounded covered up the work of the remnants of Gabriel’s unit, having blown up fragmentation grenades along with them. They directed their last efforts to throw grenades into as many rooms as possible. In a moment, everything was over for them. Gabriel’s squad stopped existing without having completed the mission fully. After a facility audit by the security forces, they reported to Megan that most mediums were not injured. After listening to the report, she gave the order to eliminate the wounded mediums as unnecessary.
Balthazar was one of the first to know about the betrayal in the ranks of an elite unit that was always directly subordinate only to him. He was sure his plan would work. He didn’t even have a bit of doubt about them. It was a strong slap in the face of his vanity. All this led him into an uncontrollable rage. He incinerated everything that caught his eye, then picked up the communicator and pressed the “call” button. “The time for plan B has come!”
“Proceed to …”
At that moment, there was a jolt that knocked him down. He dropped the phone, which fell to the floor, having flown under the table.
“What the heck…” A strong explosion occurred on the ground floor of the office, so it cost him more effort to stay on his feet.
Explosions followed one after another, having blown floor by floor of Balthazar’s headquarters. Shards of glass and structures were falling on parked cars. He rushed to the window to jump out, but at that moment, an explosion thundered on his floor, having demolished everything in its path. “My company! … No-o-o-o! I’ll take revenge! No-o-o!” He roared, but at that moment, a fire with particles of divine dust ground him into ashes.

Without wasting time, John began to shoot half-breeds gathered around Rick. After finishing the first clip, Rick took a moment to speak with John.
“Good to see you again, John!”
In response, John began to empty the second clip without spraying attention.
“A moment of consideration before you kill me.”
“Go to Hell!”
“Nah! We’ve got a deal with Angels. We help them, and for this, after death, we go to Heaven,” Rick said in an instructive tone.
“You didn’t succeed!” John heard an approaching guard behind him and threw a grenade into the corridor. Cries sounded from there. “Gabriel’s guys…”
“Oh yes… look at them…”
On the screen appeared footage of a massacre arranged in a laboratory with mediums. John grimaced and shot the remaining half-breeds.
“Balthazar won’t back down for sure until he’s done with you.”
“Look! It’s a live broadcast,” Rick added sound.
“A terrible tragedy happened before our eyes. A group of terrorists laid explosives on each floor of SBC Broadcasting. During the attack, there hundreds of people were killed. The exact number of victims will be announced later. Representatives of the police, the FBI, as well as medics and firefighters, work on the spot. A few words, Captain Ronald Graham,” the reporter addressed the man in uniforms.
“We classify this event as a terrorist attack related to the professional activities of the channel. At the moment, not one of the terrorist organizations has claimed responsibility for this.”
“How you can see… It’s as simple as that. You really thought that killing me would help you in some way?” He laughed. “Here, Megan is in charge. I’m only an assistant.”
“Damn it!”
“We were not able to lure Gabriel’s people, but there’s no need for that. On our side are the police, FBI, Short Way, our followers all over the country … all over the world.”
There are automatic bursts that began to be heard from the second group of Balthazar has arrived.
Megan knew about their arrival but didn’t report to Rick, so that if not John, then Balthazar’s squad would probably end him. She was already tired of dual power and was sure that she was able to bring things to the end without his help. If Rick wanted, like a half-breed Demon, to go to Heaven, then she, like a half-breed Angel, wanted more. Much more, namely, by destroying Gabriel, to reassign all pro-Angel forces, thereby becoming a vicegerent of the Lord on Earth, being completely loyal to the Archangels and covering them, having stopped any flow of negative information about events on Earth.

Megan went up on stage and addressed the audience.
“My dear. I’ve got proof that BWC has been conducting experiments on people for years. They do their best to prevent inspectors from entering labs. All of this has been aggravated by today’s attack. Today they’ve crossed all the red lines. They’ve attacked the most valuable thing on which our society is based: freedom of speech.”
The projectors broadcasted footage of the incident in Balthazar’s office.
“Moreover, an unstoppable thirst for blood pushed them to attack our “brothers” and “sisters” in the “shelter.”
Having seen how Gabriel’s squad threw grenades into the rooms, thereby killing mediums, followers were plunged into a rage. One spark should be enough to make it all explode, and Megan was going to give it.
Angela led everyone through a passage that just led them to a residential building near the square, where Megan gathered with her adherents.
“I’ll go to them,” the abbot decided. “This madness must be stopped here and now.”
“We have to wait. It’s extremely dangerous to go to them right now, especially after actions in the monastery. They’re on edge. Megan pumps them by nonsense,” Angela protested.
“Steve… I’ve known Megan since she came to Earth. She’s an extremely dangerous adversary,” Andrew confirmed.
“I should! The pastor must always be with his parish.”
The abbot went out. All attempts to persuade him weren’t successful. Angela decided not to lean out and wait for it to end. She was completely sure that half-breed police officers report directly to Megan, so in her eyes, this crowd ceased to look like a meeting of interests. Having approached them, Steve addressed folks.
“Hello, my dear. I’m Steve, the abbot. I’m sure you heard my sermons. I came to you so that you feel safe and don’t succumb to provocations.”
Megan broke into a big smile. His appearance didn’t come as a surprise to her, as she had already been informed that he, along with several visitors, managed to leave the monastery.
“Come on the stage. Let him go, please.”
When he got up, Megan addressed the crowd.
“The world we live in is hopelessly mired with sins. It’s only an intermediate stage between the past and His Kingdom on Earth. The purity of our faith and the power of unity were noticed by the Lord himself. He sends us Angels to bring his grace. It’ll be the end of suffering and hardship! There’ll be only His eternal grace.”
Having said these words, she was filled with energy and glow, which was felt by everyone around. As soon as Steve decided to object, she nailed him with a gaze. At first, he knelt, being unable to resist her will, after which he lay down on the stage. It became harder to breathe; he raised his hand in order to try to crawl away but to no avail. By the time she spoke the last words, Steve was dead. His limp body showed no signs of life.
“The past is gone …” Megan summed up. “We’re here to build the future. Today, BWC Pharm will pay for everything they’ve done. Friends, brothers … the abbot has not been alone. Our followers from the monastery say that he had accomplices. They should be somewhere nearby. Find them! End them! Show them no mercy!”
Part of the crowd, along with cops, went in the direction where the abbot came from. The rest, led by Megan, moved under the Gabriel office. By that time, her forces had been supplemented by SWAT units to storm the headquarters. Their immediate appearance eloquently suggested that all this had been planned in advance.
The BWC office and its production site were surrounded by police crews. Helicopters were lifted into the air to ensure comprehensive monitoring of the object and to look for possible escape routes. The police chief stepped out of the crowd and, through a loudspeaker, turned to Gabriel with a proposal not to resist and allow special forces to get into the facility, having added that Gabriel and dozens of her associates were arrested by a court order which he showed on camera to prove his words.

Gabriel watched once again the video of the failed operation. She sat in a chair, having been in prostration, and her hands drooped limply down. She didn’t expect so much crushing failure. The idea that too many mediums remained alive didn’t give her rest.
“Heck! There’s still no news from John.”
The ultimatum was met with surprise by her. “No… this cannot simply be! Do they give me an ultimatum? How dare they?! Did they forget who I am?” These thoughts brought her out of limbo, adding firmness and determination.

The second in command appeared at the door of her office.
“Evacuate staff!”
“How about you?”
“I’ll fight. They won’t leave me left alone. I’m ready,” she said firmly, having made it clear that this is a balanced decision. “All who remain should be aware of what they’ll face.”
He came and laid a hand on her shoulder.
“I’ll do everything as you say. Take care of yourself.”
Gabriel pressed her cheek to his hand in agreement.
Candy appeared in the doorway. Determination and haste were read on her face.
“Do it!” She said. After that, he and his subordinates disappeared to organize the evacuation. “Get ready, Candy. You go with them!” She looked at her.
“No! I will stay with you. Where’s John?”
“With Rick, but … we couldn’t solve the problem with mediums, and Megan settled scores with Balthazar. There’ll be very dangerous soon.”
“Gab… Look at me. I’m a medium. It doesn’t matter to me anymore when and how I’ll die: helping you here or they use me as a guide for an Angel. Megan did everything to make my life unbearable. Because of her, I fell into a group and almost committed suicide, but … but … thanks to this experience, I became who I am. I’ve been near the Throne and communicated with the Archangels; at that moment, I’ve drawn His grace directly.”
Gabriel smiled without hiding bitterness.
“Come to me. Lemme hug you,” at this moment, the maternal instinct surged on her with renewed vigor. Having hugged her, she mused, looking for a way out of this situation. “Listen… something can come out of this.”
Candy watched her thought process with interest.
“Bingo! Why have I thought of this before? If everything you say is confirmed, then you can become a connecting link for me through which I can draw the Throne’s energy. As soon as you remove the amulet and call, I can trap an Archangel using your medium abilities.”
“I’ll be able to handle it. You can rely on me … but how about you? You’re a human. They can easily kill you, no?”
“I didn’t sit idly by and developed personal armor for Doomsday. It’s based on my DNA, giving a full integration with the body, making me virtually invulnerable. There’s only one minus after it becomes a part of me; it’ll be impossible to get rid of it. I didn’t think that it would have to be used sometime.”
She’s waving a hand, having invited Candy to follow her. They headed to her private weapons room. Once inside, Candy immediately took two submachine guns with ammo clips. Gabriel went to a panel and inserted a key. The system suggested a retinal check. Having squeaked approvingly three times, it asked for a password. The dance of numbers and symbols lasted about a minute, after which silence reigned.
“Was I mistaken? Hmmm. Just not today!” She spoke out loud.
The answer to this was a movement of a wall that opened the passage to a small room. According to the sounds of an activated ventilation system, the vacuum was maintained in it. Gabriel went inside, and, having not noticed Candy’s curiosity, she began to undress.
“Performing armor adapting,” the system said.
“Damn it! Have I really gained weight?” She was annoyed.
Gabriel removed a flesh-colored synthetic suit from a hanger and put it on. It fit tightly, having covered all the important organs.
“Are you sure?” the system clarified.
“Yes, I am.”
“This process is irreversible. In a week, the costume will kill you.”
“Oh, god! Gab, no…” Candy exclaimed.
“It’s too much time. I agree. Let’s get started.”

The lasers jumped up and down over Gabriel like sun puddles, having burned out it inside her body. Having requested the need to darken the bikini and chest zones, the system completed the process. Also, she was able to choose a costume pattern that was immediately applied. After that, they’ve gone to a command center. Having seen her brand-new suit, everyone, even the uninitiated, realized that the joke time’s over.
“Set snipers on the positions! Put the system in combat mode!”
“People have been evacuated, ma’am. We’re ready for the battle.”
“Megan is one hundred percent sure of her victory. That’s why she brought this whole … “zoo” to drown these fools in blood. Any sacrifice for her is permissible for revenge on me. Destroy them all! If the arrival of Angels we can’t stop, then we’ll definitely kick Megan’s ass.”

“We’re broadcasting live from the vicinity of BWC pharm. The police gave twenty minutes for everyone to leave the building, and twenty people belonging to the board of directors and other key posts should be arrested. The ultimatum expires in a couple of minutes. The police forces were ready for decisive actions; for this, there’ve pulled into place SWAT, snipers, and air support.”
“Time is over. You must leave the building immediately!” The officer shouted into the loudspeaker.

“As you see, John, this is the end.”
“You’re right,” he fired a few shots with silver bullets and, for the sake of fidelity, threw a vessel of consecrated water at Rick.
“Ha-ha-ha … goodbye John.”

“Group five,” Gabriel addressed to the commander, “send the officer my answer.”
“Affirmative!”
She went to Candy and took off the amulet, having entered into a spiritual connection with her. Shrouded in bright light, she immediately soared in the center of the room. All her glow was consumed by Gabriel, having filled her with strength.
A sniper bullet sent Gabriel’s answer, having torn off half of the officer’s head. Megan ordered the police to storm. SWAT was in no hurry to get into a fight, having waited for the result of sniper duels. The crowd, however, rushed ahead and was immediately greeted by a swarm of bullets. The system by the focus fire burned out several helicopters in the first minutes of the battle. One of them crashed into an external parking lot, having buried many attackers. Another one crashed into a building and caught fire. Its wreckage, along with bodies, began to fall from the height of the seventeenth floor. Having understood each other’s tactics, SWAT and Gabriel began using kamikaze drones with explosives to suppress firing points, snipers, and a cluster of vehicles.
The main entrance has been paved by Suicide Canal and Short Way fanatics corpses. The very first attacks of SWAT drones led to the loss of almost all sniper groups on the auxiliary towers, but the losses of the attackers were significant too: snipers, vehicles, and four remaining helicopters.
… However, the forces were unequal. Having swept away everything in its path, SWAT reinforcements were in a hurry to consolidate the successes of the thinning out detachments of the first wave. Drone attacks have been adjusted too: now their goal was BWC pharm’s Command center. The captain of SWAT ordered the continuation of the assault. No one expected an easy walk, but the real losses were impressive: in less than half an hour, the number of corpses exceeded one thousand. Each side decided to go all the way.
Having seen the situation, Gabriel, gaining strength from Candy, personally joined the fight.
“Back off with Candy to the labs. Take care of her with your life.”
After they left the room, having taken levitating Candy with them, she soared up, having demolished all the obstacles in her path. Having flown out of the building, Gabriel brought down a white pillar of incinerating light on the advancing fanatics. Everyone who was in the epicenter instantly died, having been grounded by molten skeletons on the asphalt while the rest were writhing and howling due to the inhuman burns.
“Wanna get into a power play? You’ve decided to challenge me?” She was completely covered in light, and her eyes glowed with hatred.
All units remaining outside focused their fire on her. To their amazement, she was invulnerable. Having flown over the battlefield, she demolished everything in her path with the rays of light coming from her hands. Losses for SWAT have become critical.
“Ma’am, she’s invincible!”
“Yes, idiots, I see! Set more snipers and bring more forces. While she’s grinding you into minced meat, shoot her with a tranquilizer.”
“It’ll be done!”
Megan began to get angry with herself because she didn’t foresee such circumstances. She was annoyed that Archangels were playing their undercover fight instead of giving her all power, as Lucifer did with Balthazar. If she had become at least for several minutes as powerful as Gabriel, everything would have changed overnight. Her abilities would be enough to neutralize Gabriel’s invulnerability and turn the tide of the battle. “You’re in the same boat with me. It doesn’t matter, you say. I’ll make you work for me!”
She requested contact with Raguel. His appearance was combined with another pillar of light brought down on SWAT.
“You have some fun there, as I see. You’re not sitting idly by, and you’re intensely looking for problems on your ass.”
“I’m tired of your limitations! I want revenge on Gabriel.”
“… and something went wrong, huh?”
“She’s invincible and draws energy through the best medium who was in my group. I must stop her here and now!”
“No! We cannot take that risk. I’ll order to postpone the invasion. The last thing we need is to imprison Angels in the mediums’ bodies. It’s a long shot even for me.”
“Fuck yourself! I’ll contact Mammon right now. I’m sure that he’ll be much more flexible,” she summed up.
“It’s blackmailing!..”
She ended the session.
The first SWAT truck from an upcoming group was burned through by a beam and drove into a corner store, where it caught fire. Reinforcements came from all the surrounding streets, having caused Gabriel to scatter her attention.
“Hell, no!”
All the roads around BWC pharm were one continuous battlefield dotted with corpses, burning car debris, and ruins of buildings.
Megan tuned to contact with Mammon as she felt a stunning surge of strength unknown to her before. “Hah! I owned him! Hell, yeah! It’s the payback time, Gabriel!”
“I can give you my power for the fight so that you can neutralize Gab. Neutralize, but not kill. I’ve noticed that her trick with the Throne’s energy allowed mediums to be completely invulnerable while they’re in conjunction with Angels. This will play into our hands.”
“No problem. I’ll end Candy and her right after the transition, ha! If they survive, of course. I have to go.”
She took off and flew into Gabriel. She didn’t expect such a turn of events, which allowed Megan to push her into the nearest building.
“Fuck you! I can do that too!”
“The daughter of the bitch! Don’t flatter yourself!”
“I’ll end you once and for all for what you did to me,” Megan snapped.
Gabriel rushed and was immediately intercepted by Megan. This time, she had the agility to make a throw and get rid of her. After that, she released a beam, which Megan successfully dodged, having substituted fanatics.
“So… Is this all you’ve got?”
Since childhood, Megan was fond of archery, so as soon as she thought that having the bow would’ve been great to fight with her at a long distance, it’s appeared in her hand. Being created in SkyForge, it was filled with blinding light as well as has got incredible power. Having stood ready, she prepared to shoot, but Gabriel won’t be surprised. Megan aimed and fired the first shot. The arrow, like lightning, almost instantly overcame the distance between her and the target. The next arrow appeared in hand, having let the bow’s owner understand that there are no restrictions both in the rate of fire and in the number of arrows. An equal battle ensued between them, which Megan had long wanted.
Meanwhile, SWAT snipers didn’t stop shooting Gabriel, having tried to hit her. The first bullet was able to break through the armor in the neck and add a tranquilizer into the blood. This wasn’t enough and only slightly reduced her coordination, which was immediately noted by Megan. Snipers instantly tried to consolidate the success. Under her pressure, Gabriel could no longer effectively protect herself against SWAT. The following bullets were not long in coming. Forces began to leave her. Having managed to incinerate several more commandos, she lost coordination and began to fall.

John made sure that Rick was “ended” and hastened to leave the meeting room. The sounds of the shootings between Balthazar’s second group and the defenders didn’t subside for a minute. From afar, the first explosion came, which knocked him down. As they approached, the explosions became stronger.
“Damn it!”
The blast wave was so strong that John knocked out the window and fell from the height of the fourth floor.

Angela tried to withdraw her group and get rid of the persecution, but Andrew was getting weaker from the gunshot wound.
“We must leave him!” Midnite begged.
“Leave me, save yourself. I’m not afraid of death.”
“No! Don’t say like this,” Angela protested.
They turned onto a secondary street but didn’t even have to pass fifty feet, as they heard the screams of their pursuers from behind. The people who were on the street understood what’s going on and scattered in different directions.
“Go! I’ll cover!”
Midnite shouldered Andrew and carried him a few steps. After a dozen houses, the second group of attackers blocked the street.
“There’s nowhere to go,” Midnite stated.
Angela took out a gun and began to shoot back from the attackers. How strange it was for her, yesterday she was ready to give her life to protect them, and today she’s killing them without the slightest pity. Midnite put Andrew on the road. Having stood and concentrated, he called on Blade of Darkness, which immediately appeared in his hand. Having nodded in support of her, he rushed into battle with the second group of attackers. Angela shot all the clips and prepared to meet her fate.

A group of emergency medics who arrived at the scene of the explosion in Rick’s office found John, who was seriously injured but still alive. After a quick examination, it became clear that his spine was damaged. He was carefully loaded onto a stretcher, rolled into an ambulance, where they immediately injected an anesthetic.
